Nasal Bone
Two small, oblong bones located side-by-side at the upper and middle part of the face that join to form the bridge of the nose

Ethmoid Bone
A lightweight, spongy, unpaired bone in the skull that separates the nasal cavity from the brain and helps form the orbits (eye sockets)

Sphenoid Bone
A single, butterfly-shaped bone located at the center of the skull base, right behind the nose and eye sockets

Squamous Suture
a fibrous joint on the side of the skull that connects the temporal bone and the parietal bone

Temporal Bone
a complex, paired cranial bone that forms the lower lateral sides and base of the skull

Zygomatic Bones
A pair of diamond-shaped facial bones that form the prominences of the cheeks

Maxillae
two fused bones that form the upper jaw, hard palate, and parts of the nose and eye sockets in humans and other vertebrates

Mandible
lower jawbone and the largest, strongest, and only movable bone in the human skull

Lacrimal Bone
The smallest and most fragile bone of the facial skeleton, roughly the size of a fingernail, located at the front part of the medial (inner) wall of each eye socket (orbit)

Zygomatic Process
A bony projection from the side of the skull that helps form the cheekbone structure and connect adjacent facial and cranial bones

Foramen Magnum
Large, oval-shaped opening at the base of the skull that connects the brain to the spinal cord

Occipital Bone
A saucer-shaped flat bone located at the back and base of the skull

External Auditory Meatus (external auditory canal)
an S-shaped tubular pathway running from the outer ear (auricle) to the tympanic membrane (eardrum)

Lambdoid Suture
A dense, fibrous joint located at the back of the skull that connects the two parietal bones to the occipital bone

Temporal Bone
A complex, paired cranial bone that forms the lower lateral sides and base of the skull

Parietal Bones
Flat, quadrilateral cranial bones that form the upper sides and roof (calvaria) of the human skull

Fontanel
A membrane-covered space on an infant's skull where the cranial bones have not yet fused together

Sagittal Suture
A dense, fibrous joint running down the middle of the top of the skull that connects the left and right parietal bones

Clavicle
A slender, S-shaped long bone about 15 centimeters (6 inches) long that connects the upper arm to the sternum (breastbone)

Cervical Vertebrae
Seven stacked bones in the neck, labeled C1 through C7

Sternum
A long, flat bone located at the center of the chest

Ribs
The long, curved bones that wrap around your chest from your spine to form a protective cage for your heart and lungs

Scapula
A flat, triangular bone located on the back of the upper chest that connects the upper arm to the collarbone

Mastoid Process
Rounded, cone-shaped bony bump located directly behind and below your earlobe

Xiphoid Process
The small, pointed lowest part of your sternum, or breastbone, located in the center of your chest, right above your upper abdomen

Lumbar Vertebrae
Five large, block-like bones in your lower back labeled L1 through L5

Humerus
Long bone located in the upper arm between the shoulder and the elbow

Ulna
The longer and larger inner bone of the human forearm

Radius
One of the two long bones in the human forearm, located on the lateral (thumb) side.

Coccyx
The small, triangular bone located at the very base of the spinal column

Femur
Thigh bone, is the longest, heaviest, and strongest bone in the human body

Patella
Commonly known as the kneecap

Fibula
The slender lower leg bone located on the outer (lateral) side of the larger shinbone, or tibia

Tibia
The large shinbone located in the front part of your lower leg

Medial Malleolus
The bony bump on the inner side of your ankle

Metacarpals
The five long bones that form the structural framework of the palm in the human hand

Phalanges
The digital bones located in the fingers and the toes of humans and most vertebrates

Iliac Crest
The curved, prominent top ridge of the ilium

Pubic Bone
The lower, forward-facing bone located at the front of your pelvis

Ischium
The lower and back part of the hip bone that supports your weight when you sit

Sacrum
The large, triangular bone at the base of the spine that connects the vertebral column to the pelvis

Pelvis
A basin-shaped ring of bones located at the base of the spine that connects the upper body trunk to the lower limbs

Ilium
The largest and uppermost bone of the pelvis

Triangular (triquetrum)
The pyramid-shaped wrist bone located on the pinky-finger side of your hand

Lunate
The small, crescent-shaped bone in the center of the wrist's upper (proximal) row.

Scaphoid
The small, boat-shaped bone located on the thumb side of the wrist that helps link the hand to the forearm and stabilize the joint

Trapezium
The small, four-sided bone in the wrist located at the base of the thumb

Trapezoid
The trapezoid bone is the smallest carpal (wrist) bone in the distal row, sitting in the middle of the palm side of the hand
