has ribosomes to make proteins that usually get used outside of cell, i.e., proteins released from cell

smooth endoplasmic reticulum (smooth ER)

make lipids, e.g., fats

Golgi apparatus

sort, modify, and package substances for storage or release from cell

mitochondria

release energy from mood molecules to power cell processes, i.e., performs cellular respiration

vacuoles

sacs that store and/or transport materials in cytoplasm, e.g., products, food, and waste

vesicles

cell membrane

separates contents inside cell from outside; control movement of substances into and out of the cell e.g., food and waste

cell wall

rigid structure surrounding cell membrane that provides protection and shape to plant cells

chloroplasts

captures energy from light to produce food (sugars), i.e., performs photosynthesis in plant cells of leaf
