Sinus
Cavity in the skull that is surrounded by bone.
Foramen
Small, round hole through a bone. Allows for blood vessels and nerves to pass through.
Canal / Meatus
Large, round hole through a bone.
Fissure
Space between 2 different bones, touches both of them and usually irregularly shaped.
