Very few people due to limited resources such as lack of infastructure, healthcare, entertainment and shopping.

8/10 Australians live withing 50km of the east and south east coast (Cairns to Adeliade). They live here due to the liveable climate. Many who live in the cities retire there as well.

2/3 of Australians live in large cities. These provide a wide variety of jobs, excellent healthcare, schools,events, banking and sporting events.

1/10 people live in these areas. Some move to these areas for cheaper housing. Theres usually a good sense of community in these areas

Strong sense of community, no hustle/bustle which means less noise which is less busy, less traffic, and less air pollution.
Disadvantages of Rural Areas
Not as convient and fewer services such as schools, health-care and shops.

People moving to cities that leads to a large growth of population. For example, Monsfield to Melbourne.

When many people move out to urban areas which causes the area they’re moving to need to build more infastructure leading to loss of farmland and habitats.

The measurement of the number of people living in an area usually measured in one square kilometre areas.
