Human Resource Management (HRM)

Job Analysis
A study of what is done by employees who hold various job titles, including job descriptions and job specifications.
Contingent Workers
Workers who do not have the expectation of regular, full-time employment, including part-time, temporary, and seasonal workers.
Compensation
A main tool companies use to attract qualified employees and one of their largest operating costs, including salaries, wages, and benefits.
Fringe Benefits
Additional compensation to employees beyond base wages, including sick-leave pay, vacation pay, and health plans.

Work schedules that give employees some freedom to choose which hours to work, typically requiring core time periods.
Performance Appraisal
An evaluation that measures employee performance against established standards to make decisions about promotions, compensation, and training.
