Beaker
Glass or plastic container; glass beakers may be heated; used for experiments, not for measuring volumes of liquids.

Beaker tongs
Used for handling beakers.

Bunsen burner
Connected to a gas supply with rubber tubing; used to heat chemicals (dry or in a solution) in beakers, test tubes & crucibles.

Buret
Used to measures volumes of solutions in titrations.

Double buret clamp
A type of clamp fastened to a support apparatus, specifically used to hold burets.

Ring clamp
A clamp fastened to a ring stand or support apparatus.

Clay triangle
Used to support a crucible or funnel.

Crucible and cover
Used to heat small amounts of solid substances at high temperatures.

Crucible tongs
Used to pick up and hold small items.

Digital scale
Used to measure mass of solid substances.

Erlenmeyer flask
May be heated, used in titrations.

Evaporating dish
Used to contain small volumes of liquid being evaporated.

Florence flask
May be heated, used in making and storing solutions.

Forceps
Used to hold or pick up small objects.

Funnel
Glass or plastic, holds filter paper and aids in separating substances. Also used for pouring liquids into a smaller container.

Filter paper
Paper held inside a funnel to aid in separating substances.

Graduated cylinder
Glass or plastic, used to measure liquid volumes.

Hot plate
Used to heat liquids.

Mortar and pestle
May be used to grind crystals and lumpy chemicals to a powder.

Plastic wash bottle
Squeeze sides to dispense liquids.

Ring stand
May be used as a support.

Rubber tubing
Used to connect apparatus so as to transfer liquids or gasses.

Safety goggles
Must be worn at all times while working in the laboratory.

Spatula
Used to transfer solid chemicals.

Scoopula
Used to transfer solid chemicals; has a larger capacity than a spatula.

Stirring rod
Used to stir, assist in pouring liquids and for removing precipitates from a container.

Test tube brush
Bristles with wire handle, used to scrub small diameter glassware.

Test tube holder
Used to hold test tubes or glass tubing.

Test tube rack
Holds test tubes in a vertical position.

Test tube
Used for experiments; may be heated.

Watch glass
Glass used to cover an evaporating dish or beaker.

Weighing boat
Used on a digital scale to measure the mass of a solid substance.

Wire gauze
Used to spread the heat of a burner flame.
