Pancreatitis
simply means inflammation of the pancreas.
Gigantism /Acromegaly
If the pituitary gland produces too much growth hormone, a child's bones and body parts may grow abnormally fast. If growth hormone levels are too low, a child can stop growing in height.
Hyperthyroidism
The thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone,

The thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone
Hypopituitarism
The pituitary gland releases little or no pituitary hormones.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Overproduction of androgens interfere with the development of eggs and their release from the female ovaries
Adrenal insufficiency
The adrenal gland releases too little of the hormone cortisol and sometimes, aldosterone.
Cushing's disease
Overproduction of a pituitary gland hormone leads to an overactive adrenal gland.
Multiple endocrine Neoplasia
They cause tumors of the parathyroid, adrenal, and thyroid glands, leading to overproduction of hormones.
Vaginal Dryness
Falling estrogen levels during premenopause and a lack of estrogen after menopause. This makes the wall of the vagina thinner. It can be painful to have sex. It's important to take progesterone along with estrogen to decrease certain risks of hormone therapy
Cavities (caries)
•Bacteria evade removal by brushing and saliva and damage the enamel and deeper structures of teeth. Most cavities occur on molars and premolars.
Tooth decay
A general name for disease of the teeth, including cavities.
Periodontitis
Inflammation of the deeper structures of the teeth
Gingivitis
Inflammation of the surface portion of the gums, around and between the crowns of the teeth.
Plaque
A sticky, colorless film made of bacteria and the substances they secrete. Plaque develops quickly on teeth after eating sugary food, but can be easily brushed off.
Tartar
•If plaque is not removed, it mixes with minerals to become tartar, a harder substance. Tartar requires professional cleaning for removal.
Tooth sensitivity
•When one or more teeth become sensitive to hot or cold, it may mean the dentin is exposed.
Overbite
•The upper teeth protrude significantly over the lower teeth.
Underbite
•The lower teeth protrude significantly past the upper teeth.
Teeth grinding (bruxism)
Stress, anxiety, or sleep disorders can cause teeth grinding, usually during sleep. A dull headache or sore jaw can be symptoms.
Epilepsy
in which abnormal electrical discharges from brain cells cause seizures

which is a progressive nerve disease that affects movement

•which covers a wide range of disorders that impacts mental functions, particularly memory.
Stroke
which occurs when there is bleeding on the brain or the blow flow to the brain is obstructed
Transient ischemic attack (TIA)
•which are mini-type strokes that last a shorter period of time but mimic stroke symptoms;
Subarachnoid hemorrhage
•which is specifically bleeding in the space between your brain and the surrounding membrane that can be the result of a trauma or rupturing of a weak blood vessel.
Polio, short for poliomyelitis
caused by the polio virus.
optometrist
•is an eye doctor who has earned the Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree. Optometrists examine eyes for both vision and health problems, and correct refractive errors by prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses.
ophthalmologist
is a medical doctor (MD) or a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) who specializes in eye and vision care. Trained to perform eye exams, diagnose and treat disease, prescribe and perform eye surgery.
optician
is not an eye doctor, but opticians are an important part of your eye care team. Opticians use prescriptions written by an optometrist or an ophthalmologist to fit and sell eyeglasses and other eyewear.
Dry eye
occurs when the eye does not produce tears properly, or when the tears are not of the correct consistency and evaporate too quickly
Low vision
means that even with regular glasses, contact lenses, medicine, or surgery, people find everyday tasks difficult to do.
Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD)
is a disease associated with aging that gradually destroys sharp, central vision.
Bulging eyes, or proptosis
•occurs when one or both eyes protrude from the eye sockets due to space taking lesions such as swelling of the muscles, fat, and tissue behind the eye.
Color blindness
is not actually blindness in the true sense but rather is a color vision deficiency—people who are affected by it simply do not agree with most other people about color matching.
Cataract
is a clouding of the lens in the eye.
Diabetic eye disease
is a complication of diabetes and a leading cause of blindness.
Glaucoma
is a disease that can damage the eye’s optic nerve and result in vision loss and blindness. It is usually associated with high pressure in the eye and affects side or peripheral vision.
Crossed eyes (or strabismus)
•occur when a person's eyes are not able to align on the same point at the same time, and appear to be misaligned or pointed in different directions.
Keratoconus
is when the cornea in the front of the eye, which normally is round, becomes thin and cone shaped.
