Abraham's Age (Covenant)
99 years old when God made a covenant with Him.
Faith
Our lifetime response to God who reveals Himself to us.
Covenant (General)
An agreement between two parties.
Covenant (Christian view)
A sacred agreement or bond between God and humanity, often involving promises, obligations, and a deep, personal relationship.
Abraham
A name meaning “the Father of Many Nations,” changed from Abram.
The Core Covenant Promise
‐I will be your God, and you will be My people.‐
The Land of Canaan
Called the Promised land because God promised this land to Abraham and His children as a home forever.
Sarah
Formerly known as Sarai, she was blessed by God to become the mother of nations and kings.
Isaac
The son of Sarah.
God's requirement for the covenant
To honor and obey Him, and for all males in the house to be circumcised.
Three-part promise (Part 1: Land)
God will give Abraham the land of Canaan as their home forever.
Three-part promise (Part 2: Descendants)
God will give Abraham descendants so many that they will become great nations.
Three-part promise (Part 3: Duration)
The covenant is an everlasting promise to Abraham and to everyone who comes after him.
