Voyage refers to a sea trip (See-Reise), while journey refers to traveling from one place to another (Reise).

Umpire refers to a tennis referee (Tennisschiedsrichter), while referee refers to a football referee (Fussballschiedsrichter).

Move something to an earlier time or date, or present an idea.

Continue doing something.
Get round to
Find the time or opportunity to do something.
Artificial / False
Artificial means man-made or synthetic (e.g. artificial leg), while false means untrue or counterfeit (e.g. false character, false money).
Electric / Electronic
Electric means powered by electricity, while electronic means controlled by microchips or electronic components.
Break down
To collapse completely or stop functioning.
Carry out
Perform or execute a plan, instruction, or experiment.
Tabloid / Broadsheet
Tabloid refers to a popular compact newspaper (Boulevardzeitung), while broadsheet refers to a serious large-format newspaper (Qualitätszeitung).
Deny / Refuse
Deny means to state that something is not true or withhold something, while refuse means to decline to do something.
Flick through
Look through a book, magazine, or change TV channels quickly.
Sensitive / Sensible
Sensitive means easily affected or emotionally delicate (sensibel, feinfühlig), while sensible means practical and reasonable (vernünftig, rational).

Proof is conclusive demonstration of facts, while evidence is information or objects indicating whether something is true (Beweis, Beweismittel).

Receipt is proof of payment/purchase (Kaufbeleg/Quittung), while bill is a document requesting payment for goods or services (Rechnung).
Audition / Rehearsal
Audition is a trial performance for a role, while rehearsal is a practice session before a public performance.
Fit / Suit / Match
Fit means correct size, suit means looks good on a person, and match means items look good together.
Employer / Employee
Employer is the person or organization hiring workers (Arbeitgeber), while employee is the person working for them (Angestellter).
