Mitosis
A type of Cell division.
Importance of Cell Division
For the growth of organisms and to repair damaged cells.
Chromosomes Structure
Two chromatids, joined at the centromere.
Parent Cell Division Outcome
Two daughter cells that are identical to the parent cell.
Maintaining the Chromosome Complement
Number of chromosomes that a parent cell has = Number of chromosomes that a daughter cell has.
Specialisation
Having a special shape or structure which allows cells to carry out a specific function.
Levels of Organisation in Animals (STOSO)
Specialised cell - tissue - organ - system - organ
Phloem Cells
Transport sugar around a plant.
