Plumbing Fixture

A receptacle attached to a plumbing system other than a trap in which water or waste may be collected or obtained before ultimately being discharged into the plumbing system.

Water Closet

A water-flushed plumbing fixture designed to receive human wastes directly from the user.

Sanitary Ware

Porcelain enamel ware, such as bathtubs, sewer pipes, toilet bowls, washbasins, etc.

Plumbing Fixture Trim

The water supply and drainage fittings which are installed on the fixture to control the flow of water into the fixture and the flow of wastewater from the fixture to the sanitary drainage system.

Floor-set/Floor-mounted

Refers to plumbing fixtures that rest upon the floor.

Wall-Hung

Refers to plumbing fixtures supported upon the wall.

Quality of Materials

Plumbing fixtures shall be manufactured of dense, durable, nonabsorbent materials, and must have smooth, impervious surfaces free from unnecessary concealed fouling surfaces.

Water Closet Flushing Designs

Different forms include Washdown, Reverse Trap, Siphon Jet, Siphon Vortex, Blowout, Trapezoidal, Semi-pedestal.

Types of Lavatory

Include Wall-hung, Stall type, w/ Pedestal, Trough type, Countertop, Under-the-counter, One Piece, Column Basin.

Types of Urinal

Include Wall-hung, Stall type, w/ Pedestal, Trough type.

Types of Flushing Actions

Include Washout, Siphon Jet.

Bathtub Faucets

Types include Over-rim Bathtub Fitting with Compression Faucet and Single-Handle options.

Women's Urinals

Urinals designed for women where the user is in a straddled position when in use, available in floor-set and wall-hung types.

Bidet

A plumbing fixture for personal hygiene, typically situated near a toilet.

Shower Bath

A bath in which the bathing water is showered upon the user's body from above.

Kitchen Sinks

Shallow, flat-bottomed fixtures used in cleaning dishes and food preparation.

Types of Kitchen Sinks

Include Double-Compartment and Single-Compartment Kitchen Sink.

Bathtub

A receptacle for water shaped to fit a human body used for bathing.

Types of Bathtub

Include Recessed Bathtub/Built-in Bathtub.

Garbage Disposer, Food Waste Disposer or Grinder

An electric grinding device used with water to grind food wastes into pulp and discharge those wastes into the drainage system.

Dishwasher

An electric appliance used for washing dishes.

Laundry Trays

Fixed tubs installed in the laundry area for washing clothes and household textiles.

Types of Laundry Trays

Include Floor-Set Laundry Tray and Wall-Hung Laundry-Tray.

Service Sink/Mop Sink/Janitor's Sink

Fixtures installed in janitors' closets or toilets for use by building maintenance personnel.

Floor Drain

A receptacle used to receive water that is to be drained from the floor into the drainage system.

Types of Floor Drains

Include Floor drains with an integral trap, Floor Drain with a body to use a separate P-trap, Dry-pan floor drain.
