The three key types of interventions/response to environmental change

1: Mitigation

an action or actions taken with the intention of remedying, offsetting, or reducing the severity of future global environmental changes

Example of Mitigation

 Reducing emissions to keep global warming under 2 degrees

2: Adaption

An action or actions taken with the intention to reduce the harm, damage, or vulnerability of present or near future global environmental change

Examples of Adaption

Planting seed plants so crops are able to withstand a variety of environmental conditions

3: Sustainable Development

An action or actions taken with the intention of meeting the needs of present people and populations without compromising future generations from meeting their own needs 

Examples of sustainable development

Building waste water recycling into building and infrastructures across large cities
