Amristar Massacre

Apri 13 1919, British troops fired on unarmed indians who were protesting due to the Rowllat Acts. 380 killed and over 1,200 wounded.

Gorkhaland Movement

1980’s, Gorkhas in Darjeeling (West Bengal) consider themselves to be ethnically and culturally different, which is why they seek to make a separate state. Gov. of India gave in on 1988 and made the Darjeeling Ghorka Hill Council which is a semi-autonomous local gov.
