Paleolithic Age

“Old Stone Age” A period of time from prehistory that lasted from about 2.5 Million years ago, to around 10,000 BCE.

This time period ended with the invention of more complex tools.

Hunter- gatherer

A person that hunted animals, and gathered plants to eat in order to stay alive.

Nomad

A person who does not live in one place. They move to different places with their animals when the seasons change to find water and food for their animals.

Neolithic Age

“New Stone Age”

A period of time from about 10,000 - 4,500 BCE.

It started with THE INVENTION OF FARMING.

Agriculture

Growing crops and raising animals to use as food.

Domestication

Making animals more useful to people.

Surplus

Having too much of something.

Scarcity

Not having enough of something.

Civilization

A society that has - food for it’s people, different types of jobs, government, social levels, and a culture.

Culture

The attitudes, behaviors, beliefs, and customs of a group of people.

Cultural Diffusion

The spreading of ideas from one group of people to another.

Putting events in order from the oldest to the most recent.
