Future tense
A verb tense used to describe actions that will happen in the future.
Be going to
Used to express plans or predictions about the future based on evidence.
Will
Used to make offers, promises, announcements, decisions, or predictions without evidence.
Present simple
Used for schedules and timetables, indicating fixed future events.
Present continuous
Used for arrangements in the near future where the time and/or place are fixed.
Shall
Used in questions with 'I' or 'we' to offer or suggest.
Negative form of future tense
Ways to express that an action will not happen using 'isn't going to' or 'won't'.
Future tense examples
Examples include 'The bus leaves at 8 o’clock' and 'I’m going to start with a new hobby next year.'
Question form in future tense
