**Accumulation of Fluid** between the Tunica Vaginalis **Layers** or **Spermatic Cord**

* **Most Common** Disease of the Testes
* Due to Inflammation, Infection, Trauma and Tumors
* Results in an **Enlarged Scrotum**

describe **Varicocele**

**Abnormal Dialation** of the **Internal Spermatic Veins & Pampiniform Plexus** that **Drains Blood** from the Testes

* May impede Testicular Growth, Sperm Parameters and Testosterone Production


* 90% - Left Side
* 10% - Bilateral

Varicocele **Causes**

* **Increased** **Hydrostatic Pressure** in the **Left** Renal Vein
* Incompetent/Congenitally **Absent Valves** (Left Internal Spermatic Vein )

Varicocele **Manifestations**

* **“Bag of Worms”** Feeling
* **Heavy** Scrotum
* Dull **Pain** or **Aching**

Inflammation of the Prostate

Prostatitis **Causes**

* Not always Known
* Frequently develops from **Gonococci** in a Male with **Gonorrhea** OR **E.Coli** that caused a **Urinary Tract Infection**

Prostatitis **Symptoms**

* Pain and Burning during Urination
* Tender Prostate
* Pus from the Tip of Penis

Prostatitis **Manifestations**

* **Dysuria** (Burning Pee)
* Difficulty Peeing, Dribbling, Hesitation
* **Urgent** & **Frequent** **peeing**
* **Pain** in Abdomen, Groin, Lower Back, Perineum, Geintals
* **Fever**, Chills, **Myalgia**
* Recurrent **Urinary Tract Infections**

Describe **Paraphimosis**

**Retracted** **Foreskin**, CANNOT be returned over Glans Penis

* Penis becomes **constricted** and Glans becomes **Edematous** (**Swollen** w/ Fluid)
* Lack of Blood flow can lead to **Gangrene**

Describe **Priapism**

Prolonged Painful Erection

* **Blood Shunting** within **Corpus Cavernosum**
* **Blood** becomes **Trapped** within the Penis

Priapism **Causes**

* Sickle Cell
* Leukemia
* Diabetes Mellitus
* Spinal Cord Injury
* Neurologic Disease
