Why use lab tools instead of just senses?
Human senses can’t measure precisely, see tiny details, or safely do risky experiments.
Lab glassware purpose
Store substances, handle chemicals, prepare solutions, hold liquids for reactions.
Examples of lab glassware
Beakers, Erlenmeyer flasks, test tubes, funnels, volumetric flasks, graduated cylinders, measuring pipettes.
Bunsen burner
Used to heat samples/substances.
Weighing balance
Used to measure mass accurately.
Microscope
Used to view tiny objects/specimens too small for naked eyes.

How to use triple-beam balance
Put object on platform, slide weights until balanced/equilibrium; read mass from marked pointers.
Top-loading balance
Electronic balance: flat platform, digital display, buttons, leveling bubble; converts weight force to digital mass reading.
Why platform balances need level surface
To give accurate mass readings; leveling bubble on top-loading balance helps find level spot easily.
Microscope
Lab tool that magnifies tiny objects; makes large images of things in micrometer scale to study details.
