Where do the kidneys lie
l1
What are the Intraperitoneal and retroperitoneal viscera ?
Intraperitoneal =enveloped by visceral peritoneum, which covers the organ both anteriorly and posteriorly
retroperitoneal = not associated with visceral peritoneum; they are only covered in parietal peritoneum, and that peritoneum only covers their anterior surface.
Intraperitoneal organs
Jigs + scls
J-jejunum
I - ileum
G-gallbladder
S-spleen
++
S - stomach
C- cecum
L- liver
S- sigmoid + transverse colon
What are retroperitoneal organs
S = Suprarenal (adrenal) Glands
A = Aorta/IVC
D =Duodenum (except the proximal 2cm, the duodenal cap)
P = Pancreas (except the tail)
U = Ureters
C = Colon (ascending and descending parts)
K = Kidneys
E = (O)esophagus
R = Rectum
BOLD. = 2NDARY
where does the ureter get its blood supply from
renal , gondal , abdominal , commoniliac , internal iliac
where do the 3 parts of the adrenal gland gets its blood supply from
superior = inferiro phrenic
middle - abdominal aorta
inferior - renal
on the right side the right adrenal vein will drin into →
the IVC
on the left side the left adrenal vein will drin into →
left renal vein
where do the kidney expand from
T12 -L3
Which lymph nodes drain the kidney
para aortic
innervation of the kidney?
both sympathetic(thoracic splanchnic, lumbar splanchnic) and para (vagus), which travel in the renal plexus
the renal nerve plexus is supplied by fibres from what
adominopelvic splanchnic nerves - particular the least splanchnic nerve
What is the innervation of the adrenal gland
coeliac plexus (greater, lesser and least splanchnic nerve)
Where are the natural constriction of the ureter
1.junction of renal pelvis +ureter
when it crosses the pelvis brim
when enterin bladder
These are sites of obstructions by kidney stones
