This shows that anyone who divorces and remarries is viewed the same as someone who commits adultery, as even if the marriage is legally dissolved it is still viewed as valid in God’s eyes. The 7th commandment is ‘thou shall not commit adultery’, so therefore divorcing and remarrying is considered a violation of God’s commandment.
