Supernatural dimension
Aspects beyond ordinary experience, referring to a realm or power that lies beyond natural law; often associated with a possible almighty power.
Transcendent worldview
Belief in a divine power or powers that exist beyond the human and the universe, often involving monotheism and revelation through an intermediary.
Immanent worldview
Belief that the divine dwells within the individual or the world, emphasizing inner discovery and presence in daily life.
BSER
Beliefs and Believers; the framework of a religion including beliefs, followers, sacred texts, ethics, and rituals.
Sacred texts
Religious writings considered authoritative or essential for guiding beliefs and practices; often complemented by oral traditions.
Tripitaka
The Buddhist canon meaning 'three baskets' that describes the scriptures and secondary texts.
Dharma
In Hinduism, the concept of duty, virtue, morality, and religious law that upholds the universe and society.
Moksha
Liberation from the cycle of birth and rebirth (samsara) in Hindu and related traditions.
Eightfold Path

Enlightenment
A state of awakening or true understanding in Buddhism, often the goal of practice.
Rituals and Ceremonies
Structured practices such as prayer, worship, rites of passage, and initiation that connect believers to their tradition.
Myths
Sacred stories about beginnings, creation, or foundational events within a tradition.
Legends
Sacred or important stories about revered figures or events in a religion or culture.
Parables
Fictitious stories used to convey moral or spiritual lessons.
The Bible
Christian sacred text, a collection of writings divided into the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and Christian Scriptures (New Testament), considered inspired by God.
Old Testament
Hebrew Scriptures; part of the Bible containing laws, history, prophecy, and poetry.
New Testament
Christian writings about Jesus, the Church, and early Christian teachings.
Revelation
God’s disclosure of divine truth to humanity, often through prophets or Jesus.
Salvation
Delivery from sin and its consequences, often through faith in Christ and a right relationship with God.
Ten Commandments
A set of biblical ethical guidelines given in Exodus; foundational for Christian moral teaching.
Beatitudes
Blessings taught by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, modeling virtues for the Christian life.
Great Commandment of Love
Jesus’ injunction to love God and to love one’s neighbour as oneself; summary of His teachings.

Qur’an

Shahadah

Salat
The five daily prayers in Islam, performed facing Mecca as a direct act of worship and submission to God.
Zakat
Obligatory almsgiving in Islam to purify wealth and assist the needy; linked to social justice and Akhira.
Sawm
Fasting during the month of Ramadan; one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
Hajj
