Two-dimensional outline, outer boundary or outer surface of something

Organic shape

Geometric shape

structure that can be open or closed, made up of lines, curves, and points​

Open shape

figure that does not form a complete enclosure.​

Closed shape

enclosed figure where the line segments and/or curves are connected end to end, meaning there are no open sides or gaps

Convoluted shape

shape that is folded in curved or tortuous windings.​

Simple shape

Foundational geometric forms such as squares, triangles, and circles​

Complex shape

combination of more than one type of regular shape​

Intricate shape

Shapes that have a lot of small parts that are arranged in a complicated order​

Positive shape

Positive shapes are the shapes of actual objects

Negative shape

negative shapes are the areas between these objects
