Leadership
The process of guiding followers toward achieving a vision, mission, or goals, and the ability to provide direction and influence people to willingly follow that direction.
Servant Leadership
Leadership rooted in service to others, a sense of vocation, stewardship, good citizenship, building community, and serving others before oneself.
Listening (Servant Leadership)
A principle of servant leadership focused on active listening to identify and clarify the will of the group.
Empathy (Servant Leadership)
A principle of servant leadership where the leader understands others' feelings and accepts and values each person's uniqueness.
Healing (Servant Leadership)
A principle of servant leadership that helps restore emotional well-being and supports people with broken spirits.
Awareness (Servant Leadership)
A principle of servant leadership involving holistic understanding of situations, recognizing strengths, weaknesses, and realities.
Persuasion (Servant Leadership)
A principle of servant leadership that influences people positively through encouragement rather than force.
Conceptualization (Servant Leadership)

Autocratic Leadership
A style of leadership where the leader makes decisions without consulting members.
Democratic Leadership
A style of leadership where the leader makes the final decision but includes team members in the decision-making process.
Laissez-Faire Leadership
A style of leadership that gives team members a lot of freedom in how they do their work and set their deadlines.
Blake-Morton Grid
A leadership model explaining that leaders differ in how much they care about two main factors: concern for people and concern for production.
Hershey-Blanchard Situational Leadership Theory
A leadership theory asserting that there is no single best leadership style, and an effective leader adapts their style based on the situation and follower readiness.
Path-Goal Theory
A leadership theory centered around understanding and meeting what team members want and need.
Task Delegation
Authorizing a person to act as a representative, deputy, or agent for another.
SMARTER Acronym
A framework standing for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timebounded, Ethical, and Recorded.
Group vs. Team
A group consists of individuals working independently, whereas a team consists of members collaborating toward a common goal.
Good Citizenship
Being a responsible member of society by respecting the law, performing duties, exercising rights, loving the country, and promoting the common good.
Bill of Rights
Article III of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, which limits government powers and protects individual rights and freedoms.
Preamble
The introduction or prologue of the Constitution, originating from the Latin 'preambulare' meaning 'to walk before'.
Basic Filipino Values in the Preamble
Four core categories: Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makabayan, and Makakalikasan.
Nationalism
A strong sense of national identity, pride in one's nation, respect for laws and institutions, and desire for national progress (Identity + Protection).
Patriotism
Love of one's country, loyalty and devotion to the nation, and willingness to serve and protect it (Love + Service).

Communicable Diseases
Diseases that spread from one person to another, such as Influenza, Tuberculosis, COVID-19, Chickenpox, and Measles.
Non-Communicable Diseases
Diseases that do not spread from person to person, such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Cancer, Asthma, and Heart disease.
Bacteremia
The presence of bacteria in the blood.
Septicemia
The presence of bacterial waste products in the bloodstream which can produce detrimental effects on the body.
Toxemias
The presence of toxic substances within the bloodstream.
Rickettsiae
A group of bacteria known to cause diseases in humans and other animals.
Verimia
A condition serving as a causative factor for various animal ailments.
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)
A virus that attacks the body's immune system, specifically CD4 (T-helper) cells, which can progress to AIDS if left untreated.
Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)
Treatment that allows people living with HIV to live long, healthy lives and reduces the risk of virus transmission.
