Level $0.5$ Early Intervention

Support and education for people who might be at risk for substance issues but don’t have a diagnosed disorder.

Level $1$ Outpatient Services

Less than $9$ hours of treatment per week for adults (less than $6$ hours for teens) to help with recovery.

Level $2.1$ Intensive Outpatient

At least $9$ hours of treatment per week for adults (or $6$ hours for teens) to address more complex issues.

Level $2.5$ Partial Hospitalization

At least $20$ hours of treatment per week for serious issues that don’t need round-the-clock care.

Level $3.1$ Clinically-Managed Low-Intensity Residential

A residential program that offers a structured living environment and at least $5$ hours of therapy each week.

Level $3.3$ Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential Services

Full-time care for adults with cognitive or other challenges, helping them stabilize serious issues in a less intense setting.

Level $3.5$ Clinically-Managed High-Intensity Residential

Full-time care with trained counselors in a therapeutic community for stabilization of serious issues.

Level $3.7$ Medically-Monitored Intensive Inpatient

Full-time medical care with nurses and doctors available for significant problems, along with daily counseling.

Level $4$ Medically Managed Intensive Inpatient

Continuous nursing and doctor care for severe and unstable problems.

OTS (Opioid Treatment Services)

Programs that use medications like methadone or buprenorphine to treat opioid addiction, either in clinics or at home.
