Values
ideas about what is important.

Identity
the characteristics and qualities that make up who we are.

Community
a group of people connected by something they share, like living in the same place, having the same interests, or having a shared identity.

Society
the people and systems around us, including our community members, the rules we follow, and the institutions like schools, government, and businesses that play important roles in our lives.

Assumptions
things that people believe to be true without having any proof, often based on the parts of our identity that are visible.

Stereotype
a widely held idea about a particular group of people based on assumptions.

Prejudice
judgments we make based on stereotypes.

Discrimination
actions based on prejudice.

Racism
discrimination based on race that affects the advantages or disadvantages that individuals or groups experience in society.

Allyship
working to support groups who face discrimination, especially when one is not a member of that group.

Privilege
the advantages that people can get due to an aspect of their identity.

Pluralism
recognizing and engaging with the diverse identities and different beliefs that make up a community.

Dilemma
when things we care about or value come into conflict with each other.
