What is a stable angina?
Most common form; short lasting burning, heavy or squeezing pain. Patterns and magnitude do not change. Follows with fatigue, nausea and sweating, but could have none.
What is an unstable angina?
An intermediate between stable angina and a MI. Painful episodes increase in frequency, duration and intensity, with far less effort. Requires hospital admission.
What is Prinzmetal angina?
Uncommon and episodic chest pain that occurs at rest, due to coronary artery spasms. Responds to vasodilators, and is disconnected from physical activity, heart rate, or blood pressure.
What is acute coronary syndrome?
The atherosclerotic plaque ruptures, or a thrombosis blocks a coronary artery. MI occurs if not corrected. This is an EMERGENCY.
