Explain negative feedback loops

  1. Increased photosytensesis due to higher temps this encourages the growth of vegetation in new areas

  2. More photossynthesise, absorb more co2 = decrease warming effects Positive feedback

Explain positive feedback loops

  1. Wildfires are more common in hotter drier environment, release co2 which increases temps even more. So more wildfires = increase warming effects

  2. Increased temps are thawing the permafrost (increase the warming effect 20x more than co2). Release co2 and methane = increase temps = so more permafrost being thawed

  3. Ice reflects the radiation from the sun but as sea temps are rising and more ice is being melted, less ice to reflect radiation = increase surface warming effects = more ice melting
