Where is the nerve cell found in?
The nervous system.
What is the Nerve cell’s job?
Quickly send and receive electrical messages to and from the brain and nervous system.
What is Nerve cell’s adaptations?
Long. Connection at both ends, sometimes insulated to make impulses travel faster.
Where is ciliated epithelium cell found in?
Lining of the nose.
What is the job of Ciliated epithelial cell?
Sweeps dirt and mucus back up the throat.
What is the ciliated epithelial cell’s adaptation?
Has hairs like cilia and it contains organelles.
Where is the sperm cell found in?
The testes.
What is the sperm cell’s job?
To fertilise a female egg cell so that it can develop into a foetus.
What is the sperm cell’s adaptation?
Flagellum for swimming, lots of mitochondria, acrosome and a nucleus.
Where is the red blood cell found in?
Circulatory system.
What is the job of the red blood cell?
To collect oxygen from the lungs and carry it around the body.
What is the adaptation of a red blood cell?
Has no nucleus, large surface area and haemoglobin.
Where is the egg cell found in?
Found in ovaries.
What is the job of the egg cell?
Fertilised a male sex cell so that it can develop into a foetus.
What is the adaptations of the egg cell?
Has half the genetic information, lots of cytoplasm, jelly coat that hardens when the sperm enters.
Where is the palisade cell found in?
Top of the leaf.
What is the job of the palisade cell?
Carry out photosynthesis for the plant.
What is the adaptations of the palisade cell?
Have a chloroplast and it has a tall thin shape.
Where is the root hair cell found in?
In plants.
What is the job of the root hair cell?
Absorbs minerals, water and nutrients.
What is the adaptations of the root hair cell?
Has thin cell wall, large surface area and no chloroplast.
