Reactions with salts
A reaction type characterized by all cations and anions, with the example NaCl(aq)+AgNO3(aq)→NaNO3(aq)+AgCl(s).
Reactions with acids and bases
A reaction type defined by the presence of acids and bases, with the example NaOH+HCl→H2O+Na+Cl.
Redox reactions (combustion)
A reaction type characterized by having no ions, O2 as a reactant, and CO2+H2O as products, with the example CH4+2O2→CO2+2H2O.
Physical process
A process (not a chemical reaction) defined as just a phase change with no change in compounds, such as H2O(l)→H2O(g).
Strong electrolytes
Substances that fully dissociate in water, with examples including HCl, NaCl, and NaOH.
Weak electrolytes
Substances that do NOT fully dissociate in water, with examples including CaCO3, HCOOH, and AgCl.
