Subduction Zone
A geological area where two tectonic plates collide and one plate dives beneath the other into the Earth's mantle.
Divergent Boundary
Mid-ocean ridges in the oceans and rift valleys in containers. Mid Atlantic Ridge in the ATlantic Ocean, the Red Sea, and the Great Rift Valley in Africa.
Collision zone
Himalayas (Indian plate is colliding with the Eurasian plate). The Andes plate (Nazca plate is colliding with the South American Plate). The Alps ( African plate is colliding with the Eurasian Plate).
Transform boundary
Where Tectonic plates slide past each other horizontally, with little to no plate creation or destruction.
