What are the aeronautical experience requirements?
120 Hours in that part of the program
55 Hours of dual instruction
10 Hours of instrument training using a view limiting device
10 Hours of TAA or Complex time
2 Hour day xc with a distance 100nm away
2 Hour night xc with a distance 100nm away
3 Hours in a single engine airplane in preparation for the exam within the last 60 days
5 Hours night VFR with 10 takeoffs and landings at a towered aiport
One xc with landings at 3 airports and a 250nm straight line distance between 2 of them
What privileges apply to a commercial pilot?
Allows you to be PIC of an aircraft carrying person or property for hire.
What is Common Carriage?
There are four elements in defining a common carrier
A holding out or a willingness to transport persons or property, from point A to point B, for compensation or hire.
Holding Speeds?
0 ft – 6,000 ft MSL: 200 KIAS
6,001 ft – 14,000 ft MSL: 230 KIAS
14,001 ft MSL and above: 265 KIAS
Above 14,000 ft, inbound legs are above 1.5 minutes instead of 1.
Define the the term commercial operator
A commercial operator is someone who , for compensation or hire, transports people or property
Would being both the pilot and provider of an aircraft to someone for compensation or hire require you to possess a part 119 operating certificate?
Yes, if you are being compensated for providing a service and have operational control of an aircraft you have to have an operating certificate.
Define Operational Control
Operational control mean that you have the means to exercise authority over initiating, conducting, or terminating a flight.
