What is the purpose of religion?

providing a moral framework for behavior, offering existential meaning or comfort, and fostering social cohesion and community

What is ultimate reality?

denotes the underlying cause of all existence, foundation of reality, supreme being, or even an ideal state of existence, refers to God as the ultimate reality of many religions.

What is religious tradition?

is the belief and practice that comes from and leads to a human recognition of of an ultimate reality and which is handed on interpretated and communicated by an organized beliving community.

What is a pluralist society?

political worldview in which diverse groups- differing by race religion, or culture- coexist peacefully, maintain their distinct identities and participate equally in society.

What is a secularism society?

separates religion from civil affairs, politics, and the state governments remain neutral on religious matters.

Difference between pluralism and secularism

pluralism encourages multiple religions, where secularism dosen’t let religion effect government and society.

What are the nine aspects of religion

Beliefs: a set of formal ideas or truths that religious adherents identify and accept.
Texts: foundational texts e.g bibles.
Sacred Stories: Stories, used as parts of rituals
Symbol: Important images or emblems that publicly display or help explain religious traditions.
Ritual: Repeated actions.
Social Structure: The way people are organized, includes special roles and responsibilities.
Ethics: Helps decide what is right or wrong, ethical framework for rules and principles designed to guide the choices of adherence.
Spaces: area for prayer and religious practice but is contained within places or temporarily a place.
Places: Location set aside for religious practicing.
Times: Calendar of events in a yearly cycle.
Artifacts: Important physical objects that have significance in religious tradition.
