cosine function definition
The cosine function (\(\cos \)) is defined in a right triangle as the ratio of the length of the adjacent side to the length of the hypotenuse (\(\cos \theta = \text{adjacent} / \text{hypotenuse}\)). On a unit circle, it represents the x-coordinate of a point corresponding to a given angle.
