  1. Find an optimal workplace- work that is fulfilling in itself, extrinsic motivators (salary and work promotions), good enviornment, good coworkers and bosses

How are women’s careers different than men’s (continuity, occupations, wages)? 

Women make less than men on average (women make 82 cents for every dollar a man makes) 

Women have more erratic, less continious careers than men (happens a lot when they get married and have kids  

Traditional female jobs (such as hospitality or childcare) pay much less than traditional male jobs (computer science or areospace

  • How does parenthood affect an adult? What are common experiences of new mothers? New fathers? 

  • Parenthood makes couples less happy and intimate (running on little sleep, not communicating well, etc... can make this happen) 

  • Parenthood often produces more traditional (and potentially conflit ridden) martial roles  

  • New mothers often feel bad about themselves because of societies unrealistic happiness of motherhood 

  • Fathers typically feel more joyus compared to mothers, but usuallly continue work and may feel disconnected from their childern  

  • Balancing parental and household responsibilities is difficult in a marriage and can lead to lots of conflict (manily wife feeling as though she is doing the majority of the household stuff and parenting)
