Alignment

Occult blood
Blood that is not visible to the naked eye but can be detected through chemical testing, often used to screen for gastrointestinal bleeding.
Open bed
A bed that is not made up, with the linens turned down, usually prepared for a patient to get into or for a bed that is ready to be used.
Partial bed bath
A washing procedure for patients who require assistance with bathing but can wash some areas themselves. It typically involves washing the face, hands, back, and areas where the patient cannot reach.
Postmortem care
The care provided to a deceased patient to maintain dignity and respect, which includes cleaning the body, positioning it, and preparing it for viewing or transport.
Pressure ulcer
A localized injury to the skin or underlying tissue, usually over a bony prominence, due to prolonged pressure, often in patients with limited mobility.
Restraints
Methods used to limit a patient's movement for safety, often employed in medical settings to prevent harm to themselves or others.
SCD
A medical device used to promote blood circulation and prevent deep vein thrombosis by sequentially inflating and deflating sleeves around the legs.
