Receptor
The component that monitors a controlled condition and receives the stimulus (usually a nerve)
Control Center
The component that determines the next action or decides what to do with the original stimulus (makes sense of the stimulus).
Effector
The component that receives directions from the control center and then produces a response

-Process by which the original stimulus is amplified
-Either increases an original stimulus even more, or decreases it even more -Is not happening all the time, only in unusual conditions
