Kompromiss/Compromise

An agreement or decision between two or more people where each person get something to a certain extent that they want out of a thing or a situation.

Politisk Beslutning/Political Decision

This refers to actions taken within governmental settings to formulate, adopt, implement, evaluate, or change environmental policies.

Skillelinjer/Dividing Lines

A divide is a significant decision between two groups, one that often causes conflict.

Vestresiden/ "The Left Wing"

A political branch in which parties or individuals share specific political opinions/meanings. The objective of greater social equality and egalitarianism among a society's members is a common thread across left-wing philosophies.

Høyresiden/"The Right Wing"

A branch in which parties or individuals have particular idealogies or views on certain matters. Such as; social orders/constructs, hierarchies as unavoidable, conservative or reactionary, socially traditional views, free enterprize and private ownership.

Sosialist/Socialist

A person who practices socialism.

Socialism is, broadly speaking, a political and economic system in which property and the means of production are owned in common, typically controlled by the state or government.

Borgerlig/Bourgeois

A social class consisting of the middle and upper-middle class. They are distinguished from, and traditionally contrasted with, the proletariat by their affluence, and their great cultural and financial capital.

Menneskerettighetene/Human rights

Basic rights and freedoms a person should be given from birth until death.

Økonomisk vekst/Economical growth

The increase or improvement in the inflation-adjusted market value of the goods and services produced by an economy over a certain period of time.

Demokrati/Democracy

A way of governing which depends on the will of the people.

Politisk likhet/Political equality

The fair treatment amongst those in political power or influence.

Rettstat/Rule of law

The restriction of the arbitrary exercise of power by subordinating it to well-defined and established laws.

Indirekte demokrati/Indirect Democracy

Representatives are voted into office and make decisions on behalf of the people and also voice their opinions and aspirations.

Direkte demokrati/Direct Democracy

All people come together and make laws and decisions together rather than a representative doing it for them.

Ikke-demokratiske land/Non-Democratic Countries

The representatives are not elected by the people. Often they are kings, queens, and dictators.

Kontrollerende makt/Controlling Power

The effective power used to direct the Company's activities and to establish the guidelines for the operation of its management bodies, directly or indirectly, in fact or under the law, regardless of the equity interest that is held.

Lovgivende makt/Legislative Power

The power to make and change laws in a country or place of power.

Department

A part of a system of power that handles certain aspects of the system.

Maktfordelingsprinsippet/The Principle of Seperation of Powers

The process by which a government is separated into parts to not only allow different opinions and leads but to also keep each part in check and keep them from doing anything drastic.

Mindretallsregjering/Minority Government

A government in which the governing party has most seats but still less than half the total.

Parlamentarisk system/Parlimentary System

A democratic form of government in which the party (or a coalition of parties) with the greatest representation in the parliament (legislature) forms the government, its leader becoming prime minister or chancellor.

Rådgivende myndighet/Advisory authority

The authority in accordance with whose advice the prerogative of mercy is, in relation to persons convicted by courts-martial, required by the Constitution to be exercised by the Governor

To form interpersonal relations with those who are close by. For example, work relationships (professional)

Kabinettsspørsmål/Cabinet Questions

Asked when the elected leadership (for example, a government or a member of the government) of a country, city or other authority with a parliamentary system of government, puts their position on getting their position on a matter passed by the legislative assembly.

Mistillitsforslag/Motion of no Confidence

A vote in a legislative assembly with parliamentarism where the majority can express no confidence in the sitting government or a member of the government, who is thus constitutionally forced to resign.
