What is the Trinity?
The belief that there is one God who exists as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each distinct but fully God.

The belief in one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

It provides authentic interpretation of scripture and tradition.
What does baptism symbolise?
A new stage of life as a Christian and a child of God. It also symbolises joining in with Jesus' death and resurrection.
What does water in Baptism represent?
Rising up out of the water symbolises joining in with Jesus' resurrection, to begin a new life as a Christian.
What is said during baptism?
"I baptise you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit."
Why is baptism important?
It washes away sin.
It unites Christians with Jesus' death and resurrection.
It welcomes a person into the Church.
It begins a person's relationship with God.
What does the Nicene Creed say about the Father?
The Father is the creator of all things, almighty, eternal.
What does the Creed teach about the Son?
The Son is eternal like the Father; fully God; took on human nature through Jesus; was conceived by the Holy Spirit
After he died, Jesus rose into heaven to take his place as the Son of God
What does the Creed teach about the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit gives life to all things.
The Holy Spirit comes from both the father and the Son, uniting them in love.
The Holy Spirit is equal in majesty to the Father and the Son and the holy spirit inspires people to learn more about the will of God.
How does the Old Testament show the Trinity?
Genesis 1:1-3 tells how God created the universe. All three Persons shared in the act of creation:
The word 'God' here is referring to the Father; the Father created the universe.
The phrase wind from God' can also be translated as 'breath' or'spirit! This shows that the Holy Spirit was involved in the creation of the universe.
God created the universe with the power of his Word. Christians interpret this as a reference to the Son (or Word) of God
How does the New Testament reveal the Trinity?
Jesus' Baptism
It confirms that God is a Trinity of three Persons, shown in this passage by the dove (the Holy Spirit), the voice from heaven (the Father), and Jesus himself (the Son).
The presence of the Trinity at Jesus' baptism shows the importance of the Trinity in Jesus' work and teachings. It means that the Trinity was involved in the salvation brought about by Jesus' life, death and resurrection

Why is music useful in worship?
The Catholic Church has always approved of the use of music to praise God. Many Christians feel inspired by music and singing in the Mass, and it can make them feel closer to God.

What are the Pros of traditional Prayer?
• I don't have to worry about coming up with the right words to use
• not having to focus too much on the words allows me to open up more to the presence of God; it allows my mind to go deeper than the words
• when I'm upset, using familiar words comforts me
What are the Cons of traditional prayer?
Some people find that prayer can feel repetitive or routine, which may make it harder to feel genuinely connected or reflective.
Others may experience pressure to pray in a specific way or at set times, which can create stress rather than comfort.
In some cases, traditional prayer can lead to feelings of guilt if someone believes they are not doing it "properly" or often enough

What are the Cons of Spontaneous Prayer?
Because it is unplanned, some people may struggle to find the right words, which can make them feel unsure or self-conscious.
It can sometimes lack structure, which may make it harder for individuals to stay focused or express everything they want to say.
What is mission?
'Mission' means sending out people to help others For example, missionaries might be sent out by the Church to work with people in poverty, by providing education or medical care
Who are Missionaries?
Missionaries want to share the love of God through their actions They believe they should love others as God loves them
What is Evangelism?
Evangelism means preaching the good news about Jesus to other people
Evangelists share their knowledge and experience of Christianity to influence the lives and attitudes of other
Who are Evangelist?
Evangelists are inspired by the Holy Spirit to share their knowledge of God's love with others
They want to help others experience the joy, peace and love that they experience as a Christian
Why use prayer postures?
People use prayer postures because the body can help express and deepen what the mind and heart are trying to communicate. The way someone positions themselves can show respect, humility, gratitude, or a desire for closeness with God
Significance of Kneeling
Kneeling shows that the person is submissive to the will of God. It is a posture which acknowledges that God is in the position of authority and that the person praying is humble before God.
It also is a position that is asking for forgiveness and pardon for what the person has done wrong
Significance of Prostrate
To prostrate is to lie flat with your face on the ground. For believers it is a position of total humility and self-giving to God. It shows the belief that everything comes from God and people are nothing without God. It is a position where a person pleads for help and mercy.
Significance of Bowing
To bow is to lower the upper part of the body. Different cultures use different degrees of bowing, but they all show respect for the person or God to whom you are bowing. It shows that the believer reveres God and acknowledges God to be great.
Significance of Open Hands
Open hands is a sign of praise and acceptance of all that God will send.
What is the significance of Joined hands
Joined hands is a sign of asking. The person is making a request for help from God, acknowledging their dependence on God.
