What are related rates?
(1) relating a formula with time
(2) figuring out the rates of change
What are you doing when you’re taking the related rate of a formula?
(1) you’re just taking the implicit derivative with respect to time in order to figure out the rates of change

What does this mean?
the rate of change of unit, with respect to time
how fast or how slow unit is growing
Steps to Finding the Rate of Change
Step 1: Assign variables and letters
Step 2: Identify the formula you’re using
Step 3; Identify what the derivatives for each variable mean (du/dt), understand what you’re doing
Step 4: Take the implicit derivative of your formula
Step 5: Plug in values and solve
