Plasma/Cell Membrane
The cell structure that controls what enters and exits the cell; it is present in prokaryotes, plant cells, and animal cells.
Cytoplasm
A cell component found in prokaryotes, plants, and animals as part of the Organelles Graphic Organizer.
Ribosome
An organelle present in prokaryotes, plant cells, and animal cells.
Nucleus
A membrane-bound organelle found in both plant and animal cells.
Chloroplast
An organelle specified in the graphic organizer for plant cells.
Mitochondrion
An organelle involved in energy production found in both plant and animal cells.
Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)
An organelle found in plant and animal cells that exists in varieties such as Rough ER and Smooth ER.
Golgi Body/Apparatus
An organelle responsible for processing and packaging, found in plant and animal cells.
Vacuole
A storage organelle found in both plant and animal cells.
Lysosome
An organelle listed specifically within the animal cell category of the graphic organizer.
Cell Wall
A rigid outer layer present in prokaryotic cells and plant cells, but not animal cells.
Flagellum
A whip-like structure listed as a component of prokaryotic cells.
DNA
The genetic material identified in the prokaryote section of the cell structure notes.
Nucleosome
A structure listed in the animal cell category of the Organelles Graphic Organizer.
Rough ER
A specific type of Endoplasmic Reticulum listed under plant cell structures.
Smooth ER
A specific type of Endoplasmic Reticulum listed under plant cell structures.
