Widest and most superior part of the sternum

Sternum body
tongue shaped bone that extends down the midline of the anterior thorax

Xyphoid process
It is the end point of the sternum
It functions as a vital attachment point for several major muscle

True Ribs
The first seven pairs are attached directly to the sternum by costal cartilages

False Ribs
The last five pairs of ribs

Floating ribs
One of the last two ribs. A rib is said to be "floating" if it does not attach to the sternum (the breast bone) or to another rib

Cervical region
It contains seven vertebrae. neck bone, the upper part of the vertebral column

Thoracic region
The thoracic region is located in the thorax posterior and medial to the ribs.

Lumbar region
the five vertebrae between the rib cage and the pelvis.

sacrum
The sacrum is a large wedge shaped vertebra at the inferior end of the spine

coccyx
A small triangular bone at the base of the spinal column (also called tailbone)

Atlas
the atlas is the most superior (first) cervical vertebra of the spine

Axis
the second cervical vertebra of the spine

Vertebral body
Vertebral body is the thick oval segment of bone forming the front of the vertebra also called the centrum

Transverse Process
Transverse process is a small bony projection off the right and left side of each vertebrae.

Spinous process
Spinous process is a bony projection off the posterior (back) of each vertebra.

Vertebral foramen
Medical Definition of vertebral foramen. : the opening formed by a neural arch through which the spinal cord passes.

Superior articular process
one of the articular processes on the superior surface of the vertebral arch.

Frontal bone
pertaining to the forehead

Temporal bone
the skull bone that is above ur eyes

Parietal bone
Top skull bone

Occipital bone
behind parietal bone, the back of your head
