Canyon
A deep valley with high, steep sides.
Delta
The landmass formed at the mouth of a river, created by sediment deposits.
Glacier
A long-lasting, dense mass of ice that moves slowly under its own weight.
Gulf
A large inlet of the sea that extends into a shoreline, typically larger than a bay.
Lake
A natural inland body of freshwater surrounded by land.
Mountain
An elevated landform that rises prominently above the surrounding terrain, usually with a peak.
Oasis
A fertile area in a desert where water is available, supporting vegetation.
Plain
A large, flat expanse of land with little change in elevation.
Peninsula
A piece of land almost surrounded by water but connected to the mainland.
Plateau
A flat area of high ground that stands above the surrounding land.
Sand Dunes
Mounds or ridges of sand formed chiefly by wind.
Tributary
A smaller river or stream that flows into a larger one; a branch of a river.
Waterfall
A place where water flows over a vertical drop in a river or stream.
