Parallel Lines
Two lines that go on in both directions but will never intersect.
Transversal
A line that intersects another line or set of lines.
Corresponding Angles
Angles in the same relative position; angles that are in the same 'corners'.
Vertical Angles
Opposite angles formed from intersecting lines.
Alternate Interior Angles
Angles on the inside of the parallel lines, and on opposite sides of the transversal.
Alternate Exterior Angles
Angles on the outside of the parallel lines, and on opposite sides of the transversal.
Same Side Interior Angles
Angles on the inside of the parallel lines, and on the same side of the transversal.
Same Side Exterior Angles
Angles on the outside of the parallel lines, and on the same side of the transversal.
Linear Pair
A pair of adjacent angles that are supplementary, meaning they add up to 180 degrees.
Congruent
Having the same size and shape, often referring to angles or segments that are equal in measure.
