How did The Treaty of Versailles end the war?

The treaty of versailles ended the war in many small ways that all added up in the end to ultimatley end the long war. Firstly, it called/asked that Germany; lose much of its territory, land, military power, and overall power. It also asked that they had to compensate for all the damage they caused, and because of how much power they lost from this treaty, they were expected and wanted to never be able to "pose a threat" ever again. This treaty also mentioned President Wilsons idea of "league of nations" which had a long list (14) of ways to bring peace and to end the war without showing "favoritism" to certain nations and people. All together it had a huge effect on ending the war.
