Affective commitment is the emotional attachment associated between the employee and an organization. Employees want to stay because they feel aligned with the companies values and goals. This results in emotional bond which fosters higher engagement in ocb’s. It strengthens retention as employees are motivated by loyalty and pride rather than obligation and fear of loss
