Wellbeing
A measure of the state of satisfaction that an individual or group experiences when their needs are met.
Illbeing
A state or condition of lacking health, happiness, or prosperity; the opposite of wellbeing.
SPEECS
An acronym representing the factors affecting wellbeing: Social, Physical, Emotional, Economic, Cultural, Spiritual.
Individual Wellbeing
An individual's personal experience of happiness, satisfaction, and overall quality of life.
Group Wellbeing
The collective well-being of a group, encompassing the shared experiences, relationships, and outcomes of its members.
Safety and Security
A specific need crucial for the protection and stability of individuals, varying in significance across different life stages.
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs
A tiered system that outlines people's needs, including Physiological, Safety, Love/Belonging, Esteem, and Self-actualization.
Needs vs. Wants
A need is essential for survival or basic functioning, whereas a want is something desired but not essential.
Resource Interchangeability
The concept where one resource can be exchanged for another to enhance wellbeing.
Resource Sustainability
The ability to make a resource last longer, which is often associated with non-renewable resources.
Human Resources
Skills, abilities, and talents that individuals possess, including energy, knowledge, and motivation.
Non-human Resources
Tangible or touchable items, such as food, clothing, shelter, and money.
SMARTER Goals
A method of goal setting ensuring goals are Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, Timely, Evaluated, and Rewarded.
