Atom
The basic unit of matter.
Molecule
A group of two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds.
Gram
A unit of mass, commonly used in chemistry to measure substances.
Mole
A standard unit of amount in chemistry, linking the number of particles to the mass of a substance.
Avogadro's Number
The number of particles (atoms or molecules) in one mole, equal to 6.022 x 10^23.
Molar Mass
The mass of one mole of any substance, expressed in grams per mole (g/mol), calculated by summing the atomic masses of all atoms in the substance.
Conversion Factor
A ratio or relationship that must be true, used to convert from one unit or quantity to another.
Stoichiometry
The calculation of quantities of reactants and products in chemical reactions.
Limiting Reactant
The reactant in a chemical reaction that is completely consumed and determines the amount of product that can be formed.
