Hinge joints
Joints that let you bend and straighten your fingers, and rotate, bend, and straighten your arms and legs.
Modified hinge joints
A classification for the knee and the elbow joints.
Ball-and-socket joint
A joint where the upper arm bone meets the shoulder bone, allowing movement sideward, forward, and backward.
Ball-and-socket joint (lower body)
A joint found between the upper leg and hip, consisting of an open pocket of hip and a rounded head of upper leg.
Gliding joints
The joints between vertebrae that enable the vertebra to do limited twisting, turning, or sliding.
