Feedback Mechanism
It is a process of nervous and hormonal regulation by which the body maintain levels
Feedback Mechanism
It is done to either increase or dampen the change in the system
Positive and Negative
What are the types of Feedback Mechanism?
Negative Feedback
It is the process when the receptor detect change and initiate response that will go against the change
Positive Feedback
It is the process by which stimulus causes a response which will increase the stimulation
Feedback Mechanism
help the body maintain homeostasis (balance).
Feedback Mechanism
They work like a control system, either increasing or decreasing a response based on a stimulus.
Negative Feedback
A response that counteracts (opposes) a change in the body to bring conditions back to normal.
Positive Feedback
A response that amplifies (increases) the change
Insulin and Glucagon
What are the hormones that regulate the blood sugar?
Oxytocin
This helps with childbirth contracts and milk ejection
Sweat gland activity
This is regulated by the hypothalamus which responds to temperature changes
Homeostasis
The state of balance
Stimulus
It is something in the environment that causes change
Receptor
It is a cells or tissues that receives stimulus
Relay
It is a transmitter of message via nerves of hormones or both to the effector
Negative
Is this a positive or negative feedback mechanism? Blood glucose rise after sugar meal
Negative
Is this a positive or negative feedback mechanism? Exercise create metabolic heat which raises the body temperature
Positive
Is this a positive or negative feedback mechanism? The contraction of uterine during childbirth
Positive
Is this a positive or negative feedback mechanism? A ripening apple releases the volatile plant hormone ethylene
