Level 1 Mastery Quiz Requirement
The only retake allowed in Chem, requiring a minimum score of 70% which students MUST retake until achieved.
Chemical Symbol First Letter Rule
The 1st letter of a chemical symbol is ALWAYS capitalized.
Chemical Symbol Second Letter Rule
The 2nd letter of a chemical symbol (if there is one) is ALWAYS lowercase.
Chemical Symbol Derivation
Typically derived from the 1st or 1st and 2nd letter of an element's name or Latin name.
PT Quiz Focus Criteria
Tests symbols and names only (NO NUMBERS!), where both spelling and case count.
Atomic Numbers to Memorize
Atomic numbers #1-32, 33-36, 38, 40, 43, 46-48, 50, 51, 53-56, 74, 78-82, 86-88, 90-92, and 94.
Periodic Table Element Classifications
Alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, lanthanides, actinides, transition metals, post-transition metals, metalloids, reactive nonmetals, noble gases, and unknown properties.
