plasma
buffy coat
red blood cells
What is in plasma layer?
water, things dissolved in it (proteins, etc.)
What is in buffy coat layer?
thin
platelets and leukocytes (WBC)
What is in red blood cells layer?
predominantly erythrocytes
(hematocrit only looks here for RBC value)
How to use centrifuge?
done after loading microcentrifuge tube
load with similar volume tube on opposite time → balance is KEY
put lid on properly and spin at 12000 RPM
plug needs to face OUTSIDE
How to load microcentrifuge tube?
shake sample before loading
need to fill tube 2/3 with sample
cap on bottom (either side since both are open)
